Join us in celebrating our Pywothy community events and exploring the rich Pywothy Parish history through various village hall activities.

Pyworthy, noted in the Domesday Book of 1086, had 45 households, including 30 villagers, 5 smallholders, 8 slaves, 35 cattle, and 200 sheep. It was acquired by Judhael of Totnes for the impressive sum of 11 Pounds.
Today, Pyworthy Parish encompasses not only the villages of Pyworthy but also Derriton, Derril, and Hopworthy, along with surrounding hamlets and farms. The Pyworthy community is vibrant, boasting over 200 homes and more than 600 villagers. Our parish features several farms, a historic 13th-century church, and a thriving village hall that hosts various community events and activities, while thankfully, we have no slaves.
We are looking for images of the village, as well as your ideas for showcasing Pywothy community events or sharing insights about Pywothy Parish history to add to the website. Please drop us a line below with suggestions on how to evolve this site and highlight village hall activities.
